Tour De France -- Vino ROCKS!
Stage 15 today. 6 more to go, tomorrow is a rest day. And while my new hero, Alexander Vinokourov is out of the race for the overall win of the Tour, he just keeps rocking my world. He was a Yellow Jersey hopeful at the start of the race, then crashed hard on Stage 5 needing a total of 60 stitches for both knees and an elbow. People weren't sure if he would even keep riding. But apparently you can't keep the guy down. He won the Stage 13 time trial and then lost 28 minutes yesterday and everyone counted him GONE. But not Vino. With apparently nothing to lose, he figured, why not win another stage and keep Astana up at 2nd in the overall team standings? The guy is tough as nails and an inspiration.
Today was all about Vino. But I'm not forgetting out the 24 year old up and comer, Alberto Contador on Team Discovery. So much to look forward to from this guy in many Tours de France to come! Oh and PS, he has a titanium plate in his head!
