Changing Landscape of National Boulevard

On my morning walks I have been witnessing a sad change to National Blvd. between Sawtelle and Barrington. There was one long block filled with these sweet old court apartment buildings. I'm guessing these were built in the 40's and I love how they look. And I am the first one to admit that I'm old fashioned. But look how nice they are (click for bigger/more details):

But now most of them have been bought up and torn down

To make way for condos.

Just makes me sad. Will someone be sad in 60 years when these condos get torn down? I wonder.......
